LEXINGTON, KY – Southland Drive will soon see the return of a Lexington landmark at Collins Bowling Centers’ Southland Drive sign will be installed. Weather permitting, Tuesday, May 26, around 9:00 a.m., Signs Now will install this classic Lexington icon, so it can shine again as a bowling beacon. Collins Bowling is located at 205 Southland Drive.
Last November, on a Friday night, at 12:15 a.m., the large ball sign of Collins Bowling Center on Southland Drive caught fire. It was determined a spark from the old neon sign caused the 1959 fiberglass ball to ignite.
Fire crews arrived within minutes to put the fire out, but the 50-year-old sign sustained considerable damage and had to be replaced.
It’s a great photo opportunity for the love of a cool sign, as this Lexington Landmark makes its grand return to Collins Bowling Center on Southland Drive.
