EASTLAND LANES ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Eastland Customer,

I want to let you know of some difficult news concerning our Eastland Lanes Location.  Over the past several years we’ve operated Eastland at a loss and have determined it necessary to close Eastland Lanes effective June 1, 2017.

Many customers like you supported our business and we appreciate it!  Believe me, this decision has been one we’ve really tried to avoid.  However, because of the increasing costs and maintenance we had to reach this final decision.  Every customer of Eastland is very important to us and we want to continue our relationship with you.  We will be reaching out to everyone to try and arrange a smooth transition to bowl at Southland Lanes.  We are excited in that regard to remain open and continue offering bowling to everyone.

I want every customer to understand how much we’ve appreciated your business over the past 58 years - since 1959.  Again, this has been a decision my family reached after many meetings, discussions, and business projections.  We don’t take such a decision lightly.  The current Eastland employees will be working with our company until June 1, 2017, and will be considered for employment at our Southland Location.

The Bradley Tournament, in existence since 1978 and a tremendous annual event hosted by both Eastland and Southland Lanes, has been assigned to Jason Uchwal, manager of Eastland for past 6 years.  Jason has performed over the top with this tournament the past several years bringing it to another level with internet live streaming, corporate sponsors and doubling the Guaranteed Prize Fund to $10,000.  He will continue the future of the Bradley to be held at the center of his choice, primarily in Louisville, Kentucky.

Another note about Jason Uchwal and the staff at Eastland… Jason has taken another position with Strike and Spare in Louisville, Kentucky as of February 1, 2017 but will remain with us until June 1 as part-time transition team along with Eastland manager Gary Spurgeon.  Their focus will be to provide all the scheduled events the best service and help transition future events to Southland, working closely with me and Eileen Nichols, Southland manager.

I want to thank the local bowling association members, and so many people who have used Eastland for their bowling events over the course of our long history.  Our commitment to providing you, the customer, the best service, equipment and conditions will always be our top priority, ensuring you will continue to enjoy this great recreational sport.

Sincerely,

Danny Collins
