Southland “Ball Sign” catches fire

Friday night at 12:15am, the Soutland “Ball Sign” caught fire.  It was determined from a spark of old neon that caused the 1959 fiberglass ball to ignite.  The fire crews arrived within 15 minutes to put the fire out on the sign.  We plan to repair the sign since it’s such a classic “icon” of a bowling sign.

I’ve contacted the city sign ordinance department to notify them we are making repairs to the sign. I’m also needing to figure out how to repair this sign which is a fiberglass ball with neon. I need to find someone (a company) who can rebuild the ball sign.
